Interstate 10 run right through Katy and has become know as the "Energy Corridor". Many oil companies, ConocoPhillips, BPAmaco, TexacoChevron and Shell call this area home. Therefore, many smaller, yet important oil field service companies are located nearby.
Many residents commute downtown to work along Highway 290, Interstate 10 and Highway 59. Traffic has been an issue but the expansion for Highway 59, Interstate 10 and the future Westpark Toll Road should quicken the drive time.
